Berne Wood-Fired Pizza & Summer Concert Series — Opening Night

One of Southeast Minnesota’s most beloved summer traditions kicks off on June 3rd and runs every Wednesday through August. Berne Wood-Fired Pizza is a fundraiser for the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Berne, MN — just 10 miles north of Kasson on Highway 57. Two live bands perform each Wednesday night, admission to the concert is always free, and specialty wood-fired pizzas are available for around $25 (order ahead online by 3 PM for guaranteed pickup).

Voted SE Minnesota’s Best Live Music Venue by the Post Bulletin, this is the outdoor summer event that locals plan their whole week around. Bring lawn chairs, a cooler of drinks, and appetite. June dates: June 3, 10, 17 (Country Night), and 24. The series streams live on 98.1 FM.

Kasson Aquatic Center — Summer Season Opens

The Kasson Aquatic Center — consistently voted one of the best public pools in Minnesota — opens for its full summer season in early June. This isn’t your average community pool: it features 42-foot waterslides (an open slide and a tube slide), diving boards, a rock-climbing wall, a lap pool, and a dedicated shallow pool for little ones. The center draws hundreds of swimmers daily when temperatures climb.

Open swim afternoon sessions are $7 per person (over age 3); evening and Family Night sessions are $4. Lap swim is $3. Seasonal memberships are available online. Rolling Hills Transit also offers transportation to the aquatic center for families in the area.

Berne Wood-Fired Pizza & Concert Series

The second Wednesday of the 2026 Berne Wood-Fired Pizza season brings another evening of live music and outdoor dining under the oak trees on the Zwingli UCC church grounds. Two acts take the stage at 5 PM and 6:30 PM. Order your pizza in advance at BernePizza.org by 3 PM that day, or take your chances on-site. All proceeds support the church and area nonprofits.

Kubbing to Kick Cancer — Annual Kubb Tournament

The annual Kubbing to Kick Cancer tournament — held on the 2nd Saturday in June, every year — returns to Veterans Memorial Park in Kasson. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. This is family-friendly, outdoor, Viking-game fun at its finest: teams of 2 compete in qualifying rounds using U.S. National Championship rules, with the top 8 advancing to the Championship Bracket.

Pitches are set up on the youth football field adjacent to the Kasson Aquatic Center. A silent auction runs throughout the day. The tournament runs rain or shine. Teams, spectators, and supporters are all welcome — bring your lawn chairs and your competitive spirit.

Berne Wood-Fired Pizza — Country Night 🎸

June 17 is Country Night at Berne — a fan-favorite theme night on the summer schedule. Two country acts perform live on the outdoor stage while the wood-fired brick ovens turn out specialty pizzas for hundreds of guests. If you can only make one Wednesday night this June, Country Night is a strong candidate.

Kasson City Council Meeting

The Kasson City Council holds its June regular meeting. The City Council meets monthly and welcomes public attendance. Dodger Days 2026

Dodger Days is a beloved annual community celebration in the Kasson-Mantorville area, organized by Faith in Action Dodge County. Berne Wood-Fired Pizza & Concert Series — Final June Night

The final Wednesday night in June at Berne wraps up a spectacular month of outdoor concerts and wood-fired pizza. Two more live acts take the outdoor stage, the brick ovens are fired up, and the oak-tree grove fills with neighbors and visitors from across SE Minnesota. The series continues every Wednesday into July and August if you can’t make this one.

Kasson Public Library — Summer Reading Program 2026

The Kasson Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is a community staple that runs through June, July, and August. Kids log reading minutes to earn small prizes and entries into monthly prize drawings; teens and adults have their own reading journey tracks. In past years, the library has hosted the popular “Books with Beau” sessions — storytime with a certified therapy dog — on the 4th Monday of each month at 5:00 PM.

Veterans Memorial Park — Summer Activities

Veterans Memorial Park is the crown jewel of Kasson’s park system — an 18.9-acre facility that anchors the city’s summer season. In June, the park is in full swing with the aquatic center, two softball fields, a youth football field, sand volleyball pits, tennis courts, picnic shelters, and playgrounds all accessible and active.

Lions Park & Skate Park

June is an ideal time to walk historic downtown Kasson. The city is home to two National Register of Historic Places landmarks: the Kasson Municipal Building (122 W. Main St.), a stunning 1917 Prairie School building designed by Purcell & Elmslie, and the Kasson Water Tower (4th Ave NW), an 1895 limestone-base tower that’s one of the most distinctive landmarks in SE Minnesota.

Kasson is also a certified “Tree City USA,” and its tree-lined streets and historic Main Street corridor make for one of the more pleasant summer walks in the region. The Eureka Hotel building on 3rd Ave SW — built in 1894 — is another piece of the city’s railroad-era heritage worth noting.
